It is the time year when we count our blessings and give thanks for all that God has done. This year we
are overflowing with gratitude for the ways God has blessed Clearwater Forest. Here are just a few of
the highlights of the blessings we are counting:
- We are thankful for the children, youth and grandparents who attended summer camp
programs. This year over 400 campers participated in our summer camp program full of
innovative programming and opportunities to experience God and grow in faith in God’s woods
- We are thankful for summer staff. This summer 20 creative, energized young adults committed
themselves to a season of mentoring, inspiring, and caring for campers. They faithfully upheld
the core values of Clearwater Forest by providing faith-building Christian programming,
nurturing active Christian community, and by participating in faithful stewardship of God’s
creation. They joined our 5 year-round staff members, who consistently provide warm
hospitality and enthusiastic leadership of Clearwater Forest. We are thankful for their faithful
- We are thankful for partnerships with volunteers who share their talents, convictions, and
knowledge with campers. This year we sought out groups and individuals who could contribute
new energy and insights to our program. One such partnership provided the opportunity for our
campers to practice hands-on eco-stewardship by working on a shoreline restoration project.
Our campers, staff, and volunteers planted over 1300 plants and installed nearly 300 feet of
willow wattle along the shore to protect the shoreline from erosion. All of us are working
together to preserve this special place where many feel closest to God and free to connect with
- We are thankful for traditions. Campers come back every year expecting to sing their favorite
songs, play their favorite games, and pray their favorite table grace. But its not just campers
who participate in our favorite traditions. This year 12 bike riders participated in the annual
Lake 2 Lake bike ride on Friends & Neighbors Day, riding 8, 30, or 50 miles. Their tremendous
effort raised $5725.50 for the Clearwater scholarship fund. It was a joy to open Clearwater
Forest to the riders and the wider community for a day of free camp activities.
- We are thankful for the 14 members of the Board of Directors who have served with
dedication, energy and integrity, stepping up to assume greater responsibility in the absence of
a director. We are also thankful that we will soon be able to announce the addition of one new
director to our 3-director leadership team. This new individual will serve as the Director of
Outreach and Programs, joining Tami Jacobs (Director of Operations and Guest Relations) and
Lance Baumann (Director of Facilities) who are already partnering with the Board of Directors to
envision a future for Clearwater Forest that preserves our legacy and opens up new possibilities.
- We are thankful for our donors – for you! None of what we do would be possible without your
faithful contributions to Clearwater Forest. We are only able to pursue our vision of changing
lives in God’s woods and waters because you generously share you time, your talents, and your
If you have already made a gift to Clearwater Forest this year, our sincere thanks for making this
ministry possible. If you have not given a gift yet this year, please consider doing so; we would love to be
able to count you among our blessings. And we have a special opportunity for you to give:

#GivingTuesday is a global giving movement that has been built by individuals, families,
organizations, businesses and communities in countries around the world. Millions of people
have come together to support and champion the causes they believe in and the communities in
which they live.
We have two days for getting deals – Black Friday and Cyber Monday. On #GivingTuesday, we
have a day for giving back. Together, people are creating a new ritual for our annual calendar.
#GivingTuesday is the opening day of the giving season.
Every act of generosity counts, and each means even more when we give together. Your gifts,
large or small, can help Clearwater Forest reach a #GivingTuesday goal of $20,000.
You may donate through this link. Or, you may mail your donation, designated #GivingTuesday, to:
