The confirmation retreat is an event open to all youth currently in a confirmation class. This retreat is designed to augment your current class teachings by creating an environment that lends itself to positive learning. We understand that not every confirmation class is in the same situation, with some classes just starting while others have been meeting for a while. We strive to create programming that will benefit all students. There will be three breakout sessions in the schedule, one 30 min and two 75 minute sessions. This time can be used to continue teaching from your current curriculum or use our premade materials. The rest of the retreat is filled with team building, enlightening games (including Presby101, a fun trivia contest on Presbyterianism), environmental education, and time to hang out in an active Christian environment.
What’s the theme?
Beginning with Fall 2012, Clearwater Forest is embarking on a three-year rotation of themes for the retreats we offer. Each topic is a natural element, to be experienced at Clearwater, in God’s creation. We’ll look at how we interact with these elements, care for them (a bit of environmental education and social justice) and how they are reflected in Biblical imagery. The rotation is as follows:
Year One- WATER
Year Two- WOODS
Year Three- FIRE
A new element will be introduced each fall. These experiences will be supported by discussion, video clips, prayer stations relating to the theme, experiential education, and Bible study. Questions? Comments? Contact the office.
