As group of Summer Staff Alumni, we will pool our financial gifts together to enhance Clearwater Forest, its programs, and ministries. During the year, each member will make a $200 designated gift (or $75 designated gift for student members) which is combined with all the other giving circle gifts. At the end of the year, members will suggest and vote on improvement projects to fund at the camp with the 50% of the communal gift. The other 50% of the gift will be used for scholarship funds.
The Clearwater Forest Giving Circle is open to Clearwater Forest summer staff alumni.
What’s the big picture?
For over 60 years Clearwater Forest has played a significant role in the lives of countless children and adults alike. Among the many, there is a unique population known for their incredible energy, wit, charm and willingness to serve others known as the Summer Staff. As the years draw on, more names are added to this list of the daring souls who chose to take on the calling to forgo the call of fat paychecks and free time for a significantly more trying and humbling summer occupation. Summers come and go, and with them go each staff, different than the staffs that came before and yet so similar that the stories which are shared seem to merge into a single, collective heartbeat.
This group is for each and every Alumni who shares this common bond. This is an attempt to bring together every person from the first staff to the most recent which chose to call Clearwater Forest home for the months of summer. Yes, it is called a giving circle and, as expected, there will be money involved, but that is not the main point. The overriding facet we wish to accomplish is connecting with every past staff member back to the beginning and letting them know that Clearwater still cares about them and then banding together and collectively working to show that we still care about Clearwater through our prayers, our time, and lastly, our money. It will also provide opportunities to share our experiences across the ages and remind us of the fact that, though we may have left Clearwater Forest, it still holds a special place in each and every one of our hearts.

All contributions are tax deductible and will be put toward the selected project.
Can I join up with other Alumni, donate and vote as a team?
Yes, this is definitely encouraged as an alternate option, but only one vote will be counted, so it will be up to you to coordinate these efforts.
What can I be praying for?
We understand that not everyone is in a position to be able to make a donation of this size or donate at all. You can still support the giving circle as a prayer partner. The Clearwater Forest Staff Alumni Giving Circle has many prayer requests:
• prayer for the spiritual growth of campers
• pray for the Lord to reveal what should be done with the gift
• pray for folks to feel the passion they once felt here as counselors no matter how long ago it was they served
• pray for growth of the circle and think about what the Lord could do each year if 100, 200, or 400 people joined
How Does The Giving Circle Work?
The central activity of the Clearwater Forest Staff Alumni Giving Circle is the annual distribution of funds to selected projects which serve to benefit Clearwater Forest, the mechanics of which is performed through a voting process. Each voting member of the Giving Circle is entitled to one vote to select the project(s) to which grants are awarded. The steering committee will review proposals for projects that wish to be considered for an award and select those they consider to be of greatest interest to voting members as finalists. These finalists will then be voted upon and the project(s) with the most votes will be awarded and accomplished, if at all possible, before the start of camp the following summer.
