A familiar face at Clearwater, Gracie grew up in Golden Valley, MN and has spent 8 summers at Clearwater Forest making this year her 9th! While she hasn’t met Justin Bieber (yet!) she loves cheese and is in fact almost entirely immune to mosquito bites – which we all know would come in handy while working at camp all summer. She just graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in marketing, where she was heavily involved in Greek life as well as on the lacrosse team. A fun fact some people may not know about Gracie: She and her twin sister were adopted from Russia, and they even have matching tattoos in Russian.

What’s your favorite thing about Clearwater?
My favorite part about Clearwater is how at peace I feel when I’m on site. There’s something about the vibe and the people that just make me feel like I can accomplish anything!
What do you do when you’re not at camp?
I just recently graduated, so I’ve been in Iowa the last four years getting my degree, being active in my sorority and being captain of my lacrosse team!
Can you share a favorite memory from Clearwater as a camper?
I remember the moment my camp best friend and I realized we went to the same middle school. It was kind of surreal because I realized that you can really take camp anywhere you go.
What makes you laugh the hardest?
Prank videos and old Vines on YouTube.
What is your favorite book and why?
Not very original, but I love the Great Gatsby. It was pretty much the only book I really enjoyed learning about in school because you could find something you didn’t notice before in the storyline every time you read it… or watched the movie.
Gracie’s graduation from the University of Iowa this spring!
Studying abroad in Florence Italy.
