Registration for summer has opened! We are busy preparing for yet another incredible year of outdoor ministry and personal growth for those who attend! With our theme, “Branching Out: Connecting Through Christ,” we will be exploring the many ways that our relationship with Christ can connect us with individuals and communities for the rest of our lives. This theme will come to life at camp as we connect with each other, build new relationships, strengthen existing ones, grow with Christ, and develop a community committed to demonstrating Christ’s love.

 

Mark your calendars now for our Friends and Family Day, Saturday, June 10th from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Come spend the day, walk the grounds, meet and help commission the staff, and sign up for some of our programs.

Will winter never end? Cabin fever has set in for sure as we dream of the long, sun bathed days of summer! Clearwater Forest is busy preparing for our 63rd summer of life-changing experiences, faith formation, friendship making, and incredible memories! Come spend a week or more at camp, where you can worship by the lake, hang out on high ropes, play in and on the lake, try new games, dance to energizers, build relationships with others, and more, all while learning more about yourself and God! Registration is being accepted for youth entering 3rd grade all the way through those currently finishing their senior year, plus our ever popular Grands Camp continues to expand to include new activities.

NEW – refer a camper who has not been to Clearwater before and the referee will receive a $25 gift certificate to the store! Living in community, learning independence and cooperation simultaneously, developing new friendships in a safe environment, experiencing outdoor ministry, and developing a deeper relationship with Christ makes a week at Clearwater Forest a truly life-changing experience.

It may still be chilly outside, but camp is right around the corner! Clearwater Forest offers camp experiences for those entering third through recent graduates and more! With a wide variety of programs centered on the theme “Branching Out: Courage in Community,” there is sure to be something for everyone this summer! Below are a few highlighted camps.

DISCOVERY CAMPS: These camps offer all the essentials of a fantastic week for our grade school campers! From making new friends, getting active in the outdoors, and experiencing the compassionate leadership of caring cabin counselors, children ages 8-11 (entering grades 3-6) will discover an amazing week! In terms of weeklong programs, we offer five traditional weeks and one week of the environmentally focused ECO Camp. For young campers and those who are unsure about spending an entire week away from home, we offer First Timers Camp, a 3-night program.

JUNIOR HIGH CAMPS: These camps offer incredible experiences for youth entering grades 7-9 including opportunities to grow and try new things. Our traditional weeks are packed with activities to ensure a life-changing experiences and memories that will last a lifetime. Sailing Camp, Pedal, Paddle, Climb Camp, and a Boundary Waters Canoe Trip are sure to be huge hits for those wanting something more adventurous than our traditional programming. Also this year, we are offering ECO Camp for those interested in a more environmentally focused camp.

SENIOR HIGH CAMPS: (Grades 9-13th) Senior high camps offer the most variety in programs, and are designed for experienced campers and newcomers alike! We have SIX programs designed for campers entering ninth grade to recent graduates! These include traditional Senior High Camps, Two-Week Camp (for those who can’t get enough), Beach Camp and Sailing Camp (for those who like relaxed schedules and lots of time on the water), Endless (our biggest camp of the summer), and our brand new Servant and Leadership Training Camp (SALT). The SALT Program is a great opportunity for campers to learn leadership techniques in a Christian camp setting, and especially great for those looking to see some behind-the-scenes elements of serving at Clearwater Forest. Campers interested in the SALT Program must be entering 11th grade, 12th grade, or have just graduated. There is an application process for this program. These Senior High camps, especially Endless, WILL FILL UP.

Summer is coming! While we are in the midst of the dark and cold winter, there is light at the end of the winter – Clearwater Forest, of course! We have incredible opportunities to experience camp for youth entering third grade, those who just finished their senior year of high school, and all ages in between! Our Grands Camp program widens that age range so that campers as young as five can accompany their grandparent(s) – no age limit here! – and participate. Summer is a long way off, it seems, but the reality is that you need to make plans NOW to secure your summer schedule! We are looking forward to the sun, lake, and incredible worship opportunities for youth entering third grade, those who just finished their senior year of high school, and all ages in between! If you are middle or high school student and want to spend an entire week on Clearwater Lake, then Sailing Camp may be the program for you! No other camp session spends as many hours on the water as Sailing Camp does, and during the week you will learn the basics of sailing, get practical experience, and enjoy gliding across the water. Calling all grade school students! Camp isn’t just for middle and high school students – we have incredible programs for you, too! If you will be entering grades 3-6 in the 2017-2018 school year, then you are the perfect age to participate in one of our Discovery Camps! First Timers Camp is a great option for young campers who have never before spent a week away from home. This three night stay is a perfect introduction to camp that allows your child a safe and fun environment to grow in independence and Christian community. For those interested in a weeklong experience, we offer FIVE traditional Discovery camps and a brand new environmental camp called ECO Camp!

Calling VOLUNTEER CHAPLAINS! Clearwater needs you! We are looking for eight dedicated clergy or Christian educators to help our ministry, campers, and staff members grow in their faith. This is a special time where you will have the opportunity to serve the camp, have a blast, and get some R&R at the same time! Consider volunteering for a week to share your faith and provide life-changing experiences to campers, staff, and other volunteers! Calling all grandparents! We offer Grands Camp programs for you to come with one or more of your incredible grandkids! Participants will enjoy a half-week of activities for grandparents and grandchildren to enjoy together, as well as separated activities for each age group, all led by our incredible summer staff! We are also asking grandparents who are willing share some of their own talents and experiences. Are you passionate about knitting, fishing, crafts, or a sport? Financial circumstances should never be the reason a child is unable to come to camp. Clearwater Forest is asking YOU to consider giving the gift of camp to a family member, friend, or someone in your community. Why not share your love of camp with the campers of today by sending someone to camp? You can do this by individually helping someone with the registration process or by supporting Clearwater Forest’s scholarship programs. Last year Clearwater Forest scholarship funds helped many campers who wouldn’t have been able to attend otherwise, and we expect the need to be even greater this summer.
