2016 Bulletin Blips

Summer is coming! While we are in the midst of the dark and cold winter, there is light at the end of the winter – Clearwater Forest, of course! We have incredible opportunities to experience camp for youth entering third grade, those who just finished their senior year of high school, and all ages in between! Our Grands Camp program widens that age range so that campers as young as five can accompany their grandparent(s) – no age limit here! – and participate. Our 2017 theme is “Branching Out: Connecting Through Christ”. Registration is NOW open! Sign up to warm up! www.clearwaterforest.org
Summer is a long way off, it seems, but the reality is that you need to make plans NOW to secure your summer schedule! We are looking forward to the sun, lake, and incredible worship opportunities for youth entering third grade, those who just finished their senior year of high school, and all ages in between! If you are middle or high school student and want to spend an entire week on Clearwater Lake, then Sailing Camp may be the program for you! No other camp session spends as many hours on the water as Sailing Camp does, and during the week you will learn the basics of sailing, get practical experience, and enjoy gliding across the water. This camp is “captained” by our own Jon Kirshhoffer who has been leading this program for over 20 years! Register at www.clearwaterforest.org
Calling all Senior High Campers! We are very excited for another incredible summer and hope you will be a part of it! We have SIX programs designed for campers entering ninth grade to recent graduates! These include traditional Senior High Camps, Two-Week Camp (for those who can’t get enough), Beach Camp and Sailing Camp (for those who like relaxed schedules and lots of time on the water), Endless (our biggest camp of the summer), and our brand new Servant and Leadership Training Camp (SALT). The SALT Program is a great opportunity for campers to learn leadership techniques in a Christian camp setting, and especially great for those looking to see some behind-the-scenes elements of serving at Clearwater Forest. Campers interested in the SALT Program must be entering 11th grade, 12th grade, or have just graduated. There is an application process for this program. These Senior High camps, especially Endless, WILL FILL UP. Be sure to sign up early at www.clearwaterforest.org.
Will you be entering grades 7-9 this fall? Are you ready for an AMAZING summer? Opportunities abound at Clearwater Forest for Junior High students! Find out what excites you in our traditional weeks, push yourself at our specialty adventure camps (Sailing Camp and Pedal, Paddle, Climb Camp), try out the brand new, environmentally focused ECO Camp, or sign up to go on a Boundary Waters Canoeing (BWCA) Excursion in August! With all of these choices there is sure to be something for everyone! Please note that the Boundary Waters trip has limited space, and is expected to fill up quickly. If you will be entering grades 3-6 in the 2017-2018 school year, then you are the perfect age to participate in one of our Discovery Camps! First Timers Camp is a great option for young campers who have never before spent a week away from home. This three night stay is a perfect introduction to camp that allows your child a safe and fun environment to grow in independence and Christian community. For those interested in a weeklong experience, we offer FIVE traditional Discovery camps and a brand new environmental camp called ECO Camp!

Financial circumstances should never be the reason a child is unable to come to camp. Clearwater Forest is asking YOU to consider giving the gift of camp to a family member, friend, or someone in your community. Why not share your love of camp with the campers of today by sending someone to camp? You can do this by individually helping someone with the registration process or by supporting Clearwater Forest’s scholarship programs. Last year Clearwater Forest scholarship funds helped many campers who wouldn’t have been able to attend otherwise, and we expect the need to be even greater this summer. If you would like to register someone for camp or learn more about Clearwater Forest scholarships, please visit www.clearwaterforest.org or call 218-678-2325.

Calling all former campers, staff, parents, grandparents, and congregations who support our ministry – we would like to ask you to partner with us this summer in prayer for the upcoming summer programs, specifically for opportunities for youth to be themselves, to find new friends, to try new things, to be a part of life-changing moments, to hear and feel God’s presence, and to experience a community where they are shown Christ’s love! Also, please pray for the staff as they are in preparations to immerse themselves in an incredible community, to listen for God’s call as they look to their future. We know we do not do this without the spirit leading us, and your support makes that so much easier!
